‘Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms’ (1 Peter 4:10)
Sunday Mornings
Children’s work - we have a whole range of children’s groups which meet during our service on Sunday mornings. Spending time nurturing children’s faith and teaching them about God is a lot of fun (Miriam will tell you some funny comments!), but is also full of joy; when a child gets a bible truth in simplicity and faith it is really exciting. For more information about serving in this way please email Miriam.
Sunday Evenings
Worship – If you are musical, please have a word with Philly about the opportunities to help in this way. Also, each evening we need a person to operate the PA desk and the Powerpoint stuff. This is vital (but unseen) service. Email Philly to get involved.
Welcome – Arriving at church in the evening, the first person you meet can make all difference, especially if you are new, or you’ve had a rubbish day! Email Will to get involved.
Reading and Praying in the service - A good way to get more used to standing up front and leading God’s people and a real privilege to led us closer to God through prayer and the Word. Email Will to get involved.
Prayer ministry – Developing a discerning heart and learning to pray into people’s situations. A great blessing to those who seek prayer and a great way to offer support to one another through the vital work of prayer. Email the Will to get involved.
Tea and coffee – Be part of a great british institution, and contribute to our community building after each service. Email Will to get involved.
Helping the Homeless - We always have one or two homeless people visit us on Sunday evening. To host and chat to these needy people is a challenging but lovely way to show Christ to them. (At the moment, no one is assigned to do this....it would be lovely to build a small team of volunteers). Email Will for more information.
Mid week
Be a Mentor – could you commit to one other Christian; to meet with them, to pray for them, to disciple them, to read the bible with them? Email Will to talk this through.
Be a home group leader –could you lead a home group? This is a big-ish commitment, but you will receive back at least as much as you put in. Email the Will to talk this through.
Social Action
Traidcraft – Help Nicki and others with the Traidcraft stall that we will be setting up every month at St Michael’s in the morning and evening services. Email the church office for more details.
