Giving

“…you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich” [2 Cor 8:9]. As followers of Christ we are beneficiaries of the riches of his gospel and grace and want to imitate him in our personal generosity.”

We are so grateful to God for providing for our needs for so many years here at St Michael’s. However, with an expanding ministry and planning for church growth, the annual budget increases year by year. We are totally self-supporting and receive no outside financial assistance. Planned, regular giving is much appreciated since it enables us to plan ahead responsibly.

There are several ways of contributing financially to St Michael’s:

  • Monthly by standing order – forms avaliable from the office, or download one here
  • By sending a cheque to the church office or giving online monthly, quarterly or as you wish
  • By using charity cheques, or online organisations e.g. Stewardship
  • By using an envelope placed in the collection box at church

See our Giving leaflet

We strongly recommend you consider giving through Gift Aid if you are a taxpayer, as your giving can then be worth 25% more! Recent changes mean that ANY gift is now eligible for this, i.e. cash and cheque, providing a declaration has been signed. Gift Aid envelopes are available from the office, or you can download a Gift Aid declaration.

If you download and complete any forms, please put the hard-copies into the green collections box near the church entrance, or send them to the church office at 4 Chester Square, London SW1W 9HH, marked for the attention of “the Finance Team”.

Legacies

Once you have made provision for your loved ones, you have the opportunity to make a lasting gift to God, by leaving a legacy to His church. Leaving a gift in your Will to your church is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can continue to support the mission and ministry of St Michael’s. Give as you live

Give as you live is a system used by a number of churches and charities, whereby retailers donate a small percentage of any online purchases you make to a cause you nominate, without costing you anything. If you would like to help the church by making any online purchases you planned on making anyway through this system, you can do so by following this link:
