Charles is married to Tricia and they have two daughters, Clare and Sophie. Charles read law at Cambridge University and did his theology and ministerial training at St John’s College, Durham. He spent three years as a curate at Holy Trinity, Brompton, and then moved to the North-East of England where after a second curacy in Middlesbrough, he became rector of a church in Darlington. Charles moved back to London in 1995 as vicar of St Michael’s, and has been a Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral since 2010. He loves reading and bookshops.
Tim is married to Lucy, and they have three adult children, Kate, Simon and Nick, along with Rafa the black lab who goes everywhere Tim goes. Prior to joining St Michael’s Tim was a school chaplain for a number of years, and before that was in parish ministry in Darlington. Tim and Lucy love entertaining, playing tennis and walking the dog.
Events and Communications Manager
Hanne has been a member of St Michael’s since 2006. Prior to working for St Michael’s she spent 4 years in the fashion world running retail stores, fashion shows, staff training and the odd sample sale. She enjoys having fun in London with her friends and the odd escape to the country.
Organist and Choirmaster
Tom is a freelance professional organist. Recent highlights include appearances at the Royal Festival Hall, on BBC Radio 3 and in the USA, where he has given concerts and taught at the renowned Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. He has been at St Michael’s as Organist and Choirmaster since 2011, and is grateful that everyone puts up with his warped sense of humour and obsession with steam locomotives.
Before coming to St. Michael’s in 2014, Timo studied Theology, Music & Worship at London School of Theology. Timo is originally from Germany and has been in England since 2010 after living in South Africa for a year doing youth work. Besides playing the drums and guitar and being passionate about music in general, Timo loves to spend time with friends and enjoys midnight-feasts such as spicy curries or instant noodles.
Sylvia joined St Michael’s in 2002 and has since been putting German efficiency to good use in all aspects of being a part of the church family. At the end of 2013 she decided to do things properly and joined the staff as Finance Secretary where her greatest joy is claiming money back from the government through gift aid claims. Apart from an incurable love for spreadsheets, Sylvia is a confirmed knit-aholic and also enjoys the adrenaline rush of cycling in London.
Children's and Young People's Ministry
Juliet attended St.Michael’s Church with her five children when they were growing up and ran The Ark as a volunteer. She is now delighted to be the part-time Children’s Worker and really enjoys getting to know all the children, mothers and carers who come to The Ark and the many families who attend Children’s Church on a Sunday. Originally trained as a nurse, she loves helping new mothers, cycling around London, walking her dog, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Natalie has been attending St Michael’s since 2009. Prior to working for St Michael’s she had 15 years in demanding city technology corporations. Previous roles include having two restaurants in South Africa. Her interests include walking, either in the city or the countryside, knitting and tracking the stock market.
James joined the St Michael’s team in September 2015. He previously worked at All Souls Langham Place and as a Chaplain’s Assistant at Dean Close Prep-School. His time is split studying at Cornhill training course and working at St Michael’s. Spare time revolves largely around football and food.
Sam arrived at St Michaels in September 2015, fresh-faced, having just graduated from a Chemistry Masters at Oxford. One of the trainees, along with James, he attends Cornhill Training Course two days a week where he’s learning how to teach the Bible. He’s not sure where these two years at Cornhill and St Mike’s are going to lead but in the meantime is very much enjoying doing ministry without a degree getting in the way!
Guy is married to Mary Jane, and they have two boys, Charlie and Jago. Guy grew up in Cape Town, where he studied accountancy and finance, before before marrying Mary Jane and moving to the UK. His path to curacy included working in procurement for the NHS in Cambridge, a housing charity in Oxford and studying at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. Guy and Mary Jane are fond of taking the boys for walks in the countryside, camping in beautiful places and running.
